The book starts with a murder of a profound curator who leaves a code and a symbol for his granddaughter who later starts the long journey of unlocking the message of her grandfather with the help of a Harvard symbolist while being chased by the murderer of her grandfather and a group of unknown individuals who are willing to do anything to snatch the code as well as its meaning.

The story involves a secret society, a group of elite people and the Catholic church with the story building up after each chapter with lots of twists and turns becoming more and more thrilling and breathtaking.

Even though the stories are fictional; the author tries to send a message and reflect his point of view. Dan Brown, through the characters, makes good historical assertions and brings reasonably good evidence against the core principle, doctrine and teachings of Christianity and the history of the Catholic Church.

I do not want to say much; leaving the judgment to the readers. But, personally, as a Christian, I will just say that I doubt the validity of these evidences. However, from the secular point of view, I was astonished by the creativity of Dan Browns and I look forward to reading more books of him.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves reading novels, but, particularly, people who are into riddles, symbolism and a bit of conspiracy theories would absolutely love it!
